POLIN: The piece presented on this CD was created on and off between 2004 and 2011. A sketch of the piece was originally written for the Jacek Podsiadło’s Najduchy poetry and music project. The first mix of “Polin” was premiered during the 15th Jewish Culture Festival in Cracow performed live by Socha with the Cracow Klezmer Band at the Alchemia club on June 24, 2005. In 2008, an alternative mix of “Polin” was commissioned by Raphael Rogiński as a part of his hörspiel/installation project during the 5th Jewish Culture Festival in Warsaw. Dealing with Polish-Jewish history, politics and culture, “Polin” is an electronic/plunderphonic/played coda to “Sztetlach” (
