Electronic music controlled by gestures of a performer joined by the natural sounds of percussion and a bass guitar, or extraterrestrial algorhythmic space rock.
MOON2 is a Kraków based trio, whose members come from the local experimental improvising scene: Denis Kolokol, electronics; Ernest Ogórek, bass guitar; Tomek Chołoniewski, percussion. Every gig they play is not just a sound-bath, but a curious visual and sensorial experience. Denis plays electronics via natural gestures registered by a camera and fed into a motion tracking system. All the electronic sounds are programmed manually in SuperCollider without any use of commercial synthesizers. In turn, the bass guitar and percussion create a harmonic and rhythmic pulse as well as weaving a improvised sonorous fabric.

“We see music not as a sequence of events, but as a dynamic system, which we only pretend to control.”
